In Support of Kristin Smart
|
Last year when the excavation was under way for Carrie Culberson, I met Dennis Mahon and the Smart family. We
all became pretty good friends because the case of Carrie Culberson and that of Kristin Smart were so similar. It
is believed that Kristin Smart is buried beneath a concrete slab poured the next day after her May 25, 1996
disappearance. Although we have Carrie's killer in prison, the Smart family does not. We have come to support
eachother in trying to find both girls who were lost due to police negligence and pure out evil.
Last year I was told that a march was going to be held to rally for justice. I knew I would be there no matter
what. The rally was scheduled for Saturday May 14, 2005. We flew into San Luis Obispo on Thursday so we could
spend some time with Dennis before that date. We were given a court date the Friday before. It was not a good
outcome. The judge agreed with the prime suspect's family that it was wrong for Dennis to take a photograph of
their residence or walk near their home. However, they are able at any time to show up where we are, photograph us,
and watch from a parked car nearby. The march was not stopped because of these people. Below are some photos
from what I believe to be one of the most important trips I've ever made.

These photos were taken before court Friday
morning at the Jennifer St. Bridge. This is where
Rachel Newhouse was abducted one night trying to
walk home from a gathering with friends. Aundria
Crawford disappeared soon thereafter. The man
who murdered these two girls is now on San
Quintin's Death Row. Both of these girls were
students in San Luis Obispo CA.
